Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) from the Red Fort on the 74th Independence Day. With this, he said, this mission will prove to be revolutionary in the field of health of the country. Under this, every citizen will get a digital card. This card will give people many features. For example, what disease do you have? Which doctor did you see first? What tests were done? What treatment have you been given? What medicine do you need to take now? All the information like etc. will be in this card.



What facilities will be available in the scheme?

Everyone in the country will be given a health card. Once you get this card, you will not have to worry about saving all the prescriptions for doctors and medical tests.
This card will contain a personal health record. This will allow the concerned doctor to get information about your health history while treating any disease through this relevant app. This will make it easier for the doctor to treat you. If any medicine is harming you, it will be reported from this health history.
Digi Doctor facility will be available. This means that private and government doctors across the country will be able to register themselves.
Telemedicine will be available. This means that you will be able to get online treatment from any doctor registered on this platform.
E-pharmacy facility will be available. This means that you can order medicine online through this card.
Anyone can voluntarily join the scheme. It will take special care of his privacy.
There will be relief from difficulties like depositing money, rushing to the hospital to make a prescription etc. All of these things can now be made possible with a single digital card.
The purpose of this scheme is to create a digital health system

Its main objective is to create a digital health system for the entire country. It will be able to manage health data.

The government has sanctioned a fund of Rs 470 crore for NDHM.

Optical fiber will reach more than 6 lakh villages in a day
Prime Minister Modi also mentioned the work being done for digital facilities in the country. "Before 2014, our country had optical fiber in 5 dozen panchayats," he said. After that, in 5 years, optical fiber has reached 1.5 lakh panchayats. Village participation in digital India has also become essential. With this in mind, we planned to reach out to every panchayat.

We have decided to deliver optical fiber to more than 6 lakh villages. Millions of kilometers of optical fiber will be laid. In a thousand days, the work of optical fiber will be completed in more than 6 lakh villages of the country....


 4) How will your health card work?
Whenever you go to the doctors or hospital, you will not have to take the report of the prescription and examination related to the previous treatment. Treatment can be done anywhere in the country. All you have to do is tell your unique ID to the doctor and he will be able to sit and watch all the medical records from anywhere. With this, you will get rid of the hassle of saving all the papers of doctors and medical tests.

5) How long will you get the benefit of this scheme?

In the initial phase of the scheme, Health ID, Personal Health Records, Digi Doctor and Health Facility Registry will be available. Telemedicine and e-pharmacy facilities will be added later.

People may have to wait for some time to get the benefit of this scheme. Actually, the government has sought suggestions from people for its name, logo and tagline. These suggestions were to be given by 6 August. 2604 people have given suggestions in it. Its winner will be given a reward of 25 thousand rupees.

This health card will be created on the lines of Aadhaar card. However, this will not be mandatory and beneficiaries will be able to opt out of the scheme at any time.
